Government of Himachal Pradesh has launched a health insurance scheme for the persons who are not covered under RSBY, MMSHCS and Medical Reimbursement Scheme in Himachal Pradesh.
The beneficiaries of this scheme are all APL/BPL card holders issued by Dept. of Food and Civil Supplies, Govt. of Himachal, Who are registered on HPUHPS Portal for smart card under the scheme.(Except covered under any other Govern ment Scheme). The eligible family needs to come to the enrollment station, and the identity of the household head needs to be confirmed by the authorized official.
Beneficiaries needs to do self registration on www.hpuhps.com website and pay premium online only..
This scheme would entitle them for a cashless treatment under basis package of Rs.30,000/- and Critical care of Rs.1,75,000/- in case of hospitalization. For cancer patients the critical care package limit is 2,25,000/- Per year. Provision for transport allowance of Rs.100 per hospitalization subject to an annual ceiling of Rs.1000 shall be a part of the basic package and Rs.1000 per hospitalization subject to an annual ceiling of Rs.3000 shall be a part of the critical care package. This will be provided by the hospital to the beneficiary at the time of discharge in cash.
Premium is Rs.365/- for one year and need to pay at the time of registrations only.

Yes. Smart card has to be recharge every year at district office enrollment center.
No. Smart card is valid only within Himachal Pradesh and only PGI Chandigarh.
Registration and enrollment process started from 1st September 2017 at every block office and after 6 month available only district office for five years.
